Mifare Plus smart card (2K/4K | S/X) (01-011)

Invented by the small company Mikron in 1994, the MIFARE technology very quickly conquered the market of contactless cards, thanks to which it was bought by the PHILIPS company already in 1998. This technology is based on the ISO14443A standard and operates at a frequency of 13.56 MHz.

Mifare PLUS contactless card (S / X) is a 0.8 mm thick plastic card that works at a distance of up to 10 cm from the reading device (card reader).

The PLUS card (S / X) carries a UID - a unique identifier, as well as an additional rewritable memory.

After Mifare Classic cards had an updated security protocol to AES128 (previously there was a Crypto-1 encryption algorithm, which turned out to be too easy for hacking), Mifare Plus standard cards were released. These cards provide improved authentication, integrity and data encryption.

Mifare Plus contactless cards are available in two versions: Mifare Plus S and Mifare Plus X and each can be 2 or 4 Kbytes.

Mifare Plus S is the standard version for direct migration from the Mifare Standart (Classic) system.

Mifare Plus X standard cards are more flexible to optimize command flow for speed and confidentiality.

The Mifare Plus contactless card is intended for: organization of access to premises (hospitals, institutes, schools, hotels, sanatoriums, state institutions) and places of rest (hotels, attractions), to automatic parking lots and parking lots; keys for accounting and access control systems (ACC); accounting for the route of the movement of employees (managers, drivers, sales representatives, etc.); providing access to access control premises and recording working hours in commercial organizations and industrial facilities; payment for travel in public transport; payment for travel on toll highways; payments for services and goods (small amounts).
