Step4Net media converters are designed to convert a signal from the 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Fast Ethernet standard on a twisted pair to a 100BASE-FX Fast Ethernet standard signal over single-mode optical fiber.

Supporting WDM technology, Step4Net media converters allow simultaneous transmission and reception of signals at a wavelength of 1310 nm along one optical fiber at a distance of up to 20 km.
