The Xerox Cartridge Chip contains information that allows the machine to correctly identify the cartridge and reuse it.
Data about the current state of the cartridge are recorded in the cartridge chip: quantity
of printed pages, calibration data, toner consumption level. After
upon reaching the set value of the counters, the printer makes such a record in
cartridge chip that prevents the cartridge from being used even when
presence of toner in it. Installing a new chip allows you to fill cartridges and reuse cartridges - this significantly reduces printing costs.
