The adapter is intended for connecting a second hard disk (eg SSD) to a laptop instead of a 12.7 mm thick CD/DVD/Blu-ray drive. Plug&Play device - connected and working. Fully integrated into the laptop, no cables / power supplies / software / drivers are required.
After installing two HDDs, you can install a second operating system on an additional hard disk.
