cAP XL ac (RBcAPGi-5acD2nD-XL) is an analogue of the well-known "ceiling" access point cAP ac from Mikrotik with an improved antenna and a large coverage area. Like previous cAP models, it is intended for installation on the ceiling and should harmoniously fit into any interior. The new access point is based on the same Quad core IPQ-4018 710 MHz processor as its predecessor. The main emphasis was placed on changing the antenna and increasing the range. RAM remains 128 MB. cAP XL ac works in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency range and supports IEEE802.11ac wireless communication standards. The output power of the radio module is 26 dBm. The company has slightly changed the design of the access point compared to cAP ac. The device itself is quite sleek - the low profile attracts less attention, and the dimensions are only 191 x 42 mm. Your customers, guests or colleagues won't even notice, although they will certainly notice the incredibly fast wireless connection throughout the room. The "XL" in the name only refers to the antenna inside. The amplification factor was increased to 6 dBi (for 2.4 GHz) and 5.5 dBi (for 5 GHz), respectively. Plus they added a reflector for the antenna. These enhancements increase the area covered by up to 100% compared to previous cAP models. The device takes power from the first Ethernet port via PoE, so you must use the included passive PoE injector, or make sure your switch supports passive or 802.3af/at PoE output. Power at maximum load can reach 24 W. The Eth2 port is also capable of connecting another RouterBOARD device with passive PoE (up to 57 V). In addition to the fact that the access point runs the Mikrotik RouterOS network operating system, with a Level4 license that allows you to use it to deploy wireless networks of any configuration, its main advantage is the full support of the MikroTik CAPsMAN access point management and control system. CAPsMAN is designed specifically to work with a large number of wireless access points and manage them from a single place. At the same time, unlike similar systems from other manufacturers, the controller does not require a separate computer or server to operate. It is capable of running on any of the existing RouterBoard devices.
