No welding is required for installation. Moreover, apart from a stripper and a clamp, the connector does not require additional tools for installation. The design of the connector is simple and clear, and the step-by-step illustrated instructions attached to the connector will allow you to easily and quickly install it on the cable. The losses of a properly mounted connector do not exceed 0.5 dB. Such low input losses are ensured by the presence in the connector ferrule of pre-installed fiber and polished in factory conditions. The connection of the fibers inside the connector takes place in the environment of a special immersion gel at the connection point. Due to the fact that the optical properties of this gel are the same as those of the fiber, it is possible to achieve low reflection and minimal losses, comparable to the losses of a conventional optical connector. And the translucent plastic at the fiber connection point allows you to control the connection using a source of visible red light radiation. Thanks to the universal cable clamp, the SC/UPC-FTTH-01 fast connector is suitable for both FTTH cables with a cross section of 2x3 mm and for a patch cord cable with a diameter of 3 mm.
