Adapter SC / PC-SC / PC, SM, Duplex Cor-X (AD-SC / PC duplex) is intended for connecting duplex optical cords. The body of the adapter is made of plastic in different colors: beige for multimode applications, blue for single-mode applications. The adapter is fastened with a metal stopper and, additionally, with screws.
Optical adapters (sockets) are designed for the detachable connection of optical fibers. Optical fibers pre-equipped with connectors are aligned and fixed with an optical adapter, providing a reliable connection.
Depending on the design, there are different types of adapters: SC, FC, LC, ST, E2000. Adapters of SC and LC types are also available in a double version (duplex), when two adapters are located in one housing. For better visual identification of connectors with angular polishing of the end (ARC), adapters for ARC modification connectors are painted green.
Combined adapters are also produced for connecting optical connectors of various types, the most common combined adapter is SC / FC. Thanks to the use of precision guide sleeves made of zirconium ceramics, additional introduced losses from the adapter do not exceed 0.1 dB.
