Ubiquiti R5AC-Lite Wi-Fi access point

Wi-Fi access point Ubiquiti R5AC-Lite is a new access point that works in the 5 GHz frequency range, which has joined the ranks of the popular series. As you can understand from the name, the access point differs from previous models by supporting the new WiFi standard 802.11 / ac, which provides a data transfer speed of at least 450 mb / sec.

In addition to supporting the new WiFi 802.11 / ac standard, the access point received an improved MIPS 74KC processor with an operating frequency of 550 MHz, as well as an increased amount of RAM, which is 128 MB DDR 2. The power of the transmission part of the access point is 27 dBm.

Such indicators allow creating radio bridges at distances of several tens of kilometers when using narrow antennas, for example, RocketDish 5G-31 ac, which was designed specifically for joint use with Rocket 5 ac Lite. Support for the proprietary AirMax protocol, developed by the Ubiquiti company specifically for its equipment, eliminates the occurrence of so-called "collisions" - the superimposition of data packets on each other.

The access point works under the control of the AirOs operating system, which has an intuitive interface, the Rocket M5 ac setup process will take a minimum of time and will be as simple and convenient as possible. It should be noted that at the moment Rocket 5 ac Lite supports only point-to-point operation mode.
