This is an open 5-port Ethernet router with PoE output on four ports. You can use this device to power up to four PoE enabled devices such as the SXT. Since the device has a waterproof exterior, it can be installed on a tower or in other outdoor locations.

The device has five shielded Ethernet ports, four of which can power other PoE-enabled devices with the same voltage applied to the device (maximum current is 1 A per port, 2 A in total on all ports). Fewer power adapters and cables to worry about.

Mikrotik has updated its PowerBox with the RB / 750P-PBr2 model. We draw your attention to the device ID, updated PowerBox devices have the index r2 (Revision 2) at the end of the ID.

What has changed in the new revision? The old Atheros AR7241 processor (AR7241-AH1A-R 400 MHz) was replaced by a more productive one, the QCA9531 (MIPS 24Kc V7.4) chip already familiar to us from hAP lite and hEX lite, operating at a frequency of 650 MHz. The volume of operational and permanent memory remained unchanged - 64 and 128 MB, respectively.

PowerBox is primarily positioned as a router for external use. External application means mounting on a mast, rack, tower, etc. The moisture-proof housing allows you to operate the device at temperatures from -35º to + 70º C.

The manufacturer also provides the possibility of mounting the RB750P-PBr2 in the shield on a standard DIN rail, using a special DIN-mount K-27 adapter included in the kit. For networking, the PowerBox has 5 Ethernet 10/100 Auto-MDI / X ports with screen. External operation of the device involves the use of a shielded twisted pair and, if necessary, a lightning protection module.

By default, the 1st port is assigned to WAN, the remaining 4 are LAN ports. Since the device is running full-fledged RouterOS Level 4, you can change the port configuration as you like. Ports 2 to 5 can be used to power external devices via PoE (PoE Out). The maximum load per port is no more than 1A, the total load on all ports is no more than 2A. Such indicators allow you to connect to the ports a device with a fairly high consumption.
