The photo drum is one of the main parts of modern copiers and printers. Structurally, the photo drum is a metal cylinder (usually aluminum) covered with a layer of photoconductive material - a dielectric, the electrical resistance of which drops sharply under the influence of light radiation. Initially, selenium compounds were used as photoconductors. Currently, selenium photo drums are almost completely discontinued.
