The capture roller is the main part of the paper capture unit. The paper pick-up roller works in tandem with the brake pad, the main function of which is to grab the top page from the stack of paper and send it further through the print cycle. The paper pick-up roller consists of a plastic frame on which a special rubber ring is fitted. Over time, the rubber dries up, wears out due to the use of dirty or poor-quality paper, and the roller becomes unable to tighten the sheet. The paper pick-up roller affects the accurate positioning of the image on the sheet, as a worn or damaged pick-up roller skews the paper when it is picked up.
