Primary charge shaft HP P1005/1006/1505
Primary charge shaft is a metal shaft enclosed in a rubber shell. They have a different structure of the rubber layer.
The main task of this part is to charge the photo drum with a uniform negative charge. In some cartridges, the shaft performs the function of a kind of wiper — cleans the photo drum from toner residues and paper dust. The primary charge shaft also erases the residual charge left on the drum from the previous charge.
The primary charge shaft has a long service life and rarely fails. However, damage to this part may degrade print quality. The primary charge shaft is subject to strong pollution with paper dust, so it requires regular and thorough cleaning.
